DELTA success without the stress

Online preparation for Cambridge DELTA Modules 1 and 3

About Take Your Time DELTA

Take Your Time DELTA Modules 1 and 3 courses created by Sandy Millin

I took the DELTA in 2013. Although I’m pleased to say I passed, it was pretty stressful at times.

Since then, I’ve talked to lots of DELTA trainers and candidates about their experiences. Almost everyone mentions how hard preparing for DELTA can be.

I don’t believe DELTA should be like this. Yes, it’s an investment in time, money and energy, but that doesn’t mean paying for it with your wellbeing.

Why create Take Your Time DELTA?

I created Take Your Time DELTA for teachers who want to work at a slower pace, not as a race against time or at breakneck speed.

Take Your Time DELTA allows you to do exactly that. To take your time and enjoy the process. To put what you learn into practice. To feel ready to move on in your career with confidence.

I can’t guarantee top marks in the Module 1 exam or that your Module 3 assignment will receive the highest grade. No trainer would do that. But I will do my very best to make sure that you are ready for exam days and submission dates.

To prepare for DELTA Module 1 is very enlightening, to learn together with Sandy is priceless. She shares a lot of experience and knowledge and I think I will finish the course knowing much more than is needed to pass the exam.

Forget the rush, take your time

Take Your Time DELTA is:

The low-stress approach to DELTA with our guidance along the way.

The flexible way to combine learning and teaching with life.

The collaborative option with support from your trainers and fellow trainees.

The antidote to the DELTA rush.

Sandy explains everything really well and you don’t feel afraid to ask questions or make mistakes. I would recommend these courses to other teachers because you learn so much in a relaxed
and open atmosphere.

Sandy Millin

I’m a freelance English Language Teaching (ELT) consultant, and teacher trainer, based in the UK. I train on CELTA courses for The English Language Centre in Reading, where I live. I’m also a methodology writer, a self-published author and a co-author.

I’m honoured to be an IATEFL Ambassador and I’m an active member of the IATEFL Materials Writing Special Interest Group (MaWSIG) committee.

I passed the DELTA in 2013, including getting a Distinction in Module 1. Since then, I have completed an MA in Professional Development in Language Education at NILE, for which I was awarded a Distinction in 2023.

When I’m not teaching, I love learning languages, reading, travelling and birdwatching.

I admire people who try to promote the best of me and inspire me to reach my goals. Sandy achieved this through her professionalism, correct guidance and the trust she showed in my abilities
from the very beginning.

Stephanie Wilbur

Over my 20 years in ELT, I’ve taught adults, young learners and very young learners, been an academic manager, an IELTS examiner, and a teacher educator. I have worked all around the world, from Europe to Asia, the Middle East, South America and North America.

I’ve trained teachers on courses such as TKT, CELTA and DELTA Module 1. I’ve also worked with in-service primary and secondary school English teachers and subject teachers in CLIL. I hold the DELTA and a Masters in International Education where I focussed on Innovation and Reform in 21st Century Education.

I can’t wait to get started on this nine-month journey with you.

It’s deepened my interest and passion for ELT. I feel so much more confident as a teacher and a person. I think my classroom practice has improved immensely, I reflect a lot on my lessons now and select material very carefully. There’s a reason for everything!

Emma Johnston

I’ve got 10 years’ experience in ELT, as a teacher of adults, teenagers and young learners, teacher trainer and academic coordinator. I’ve worked in Poland and the UK and am now based in Chile, where I work as a university lecturer and freelance teacher and teacher trainer.

I’m an experienced CELTA trainer on both online and face-to-face courses. Additionally, I’ve prepared primary school teachers for the TKT-YL exam and delivered a wide variety of training sessions to in-service teachers.

I’m really looking forward to meeting you soon and to supporting you on your DELTA journey.

It’s one of the best courses I’ve ever attended because it’s so well organised for people who are busy and the support that Sandy and Emma provide is superb. I’m happy to recommend it to anyone!
